Having just returned home after working a total of 32 hours in 2.5 days, I feel completely and utterly.... EXHILARATED!  I have spent so much time agonising over how to achieve the right balance between work and family life, but the last few days have well and truly confirmed that working in an adhoc manner is definitely the way forward for me. I enjoyed every moment of my working 'week' and because of this, everyone was a winner: I gave my brain a good work out and indulged in the office banter that I've so missed, my client benefited from an experienced and enthusiastic freelancer, and my daughters thought Christmas had come early when Nanna came to visit and they had her undivided attention for two entire days! All in all, a great experience and one that I hope will be replicated many times in future.

Off to help one of my favourite clients, The Wine Explorer, with a series of wine tasting events at The Corn Exchange, Newbury and Vintners' Hall, London. These are the perfect places to stock up with some super-special wines for Christmas and with gorgeous surroundings, beautiful wines and great company, this is definitely my favourite type of working environment!

The more membership enquiries that come in, the more we realise just how many people (particularly young parents) are keen to get back to work but don't feel it's possible. So, after some consideration and in a bid to help more people to return to the profession they love, we have decided not to limit our membership to business support services but to open it to all. So, if you'd like to advertise with us, whatever your profession... Beautician, Childminder, Cleaner, Life Coach, Personal Trainer, Tutor or other.... Please contact us for more details and to take full advantage of 6 months free membership.

What a great week we've had here at Occasional Assistants. We've welcomed a number of new members and enjoyed our first bit of publicity. The Newbury News article even called us a 'business revolution'! On Thursday, the day the paper came out, our stats went sky high, so a big thank you to everyone who is having a look. Keep spreading the word and enjoy the sunshine this weekend.
