Terms & Conditions


1a: By using the Occasional Assistants’ website (the website) you are agreeing to the terms and conditions set out below.
 
1b: You will not use the website for any unlawful purpose.

1c: We reserve the right to change or amend these terms and conditions at any point and your continued use of the website is taken as your acceptance of any changes. It is your responsibility to regularly review the terms and conditions for any changes or amendments.
 
2a: Occasional Assistants (OA) provides a comprehensive list of professionals offering their services on an ad hoc basis. We will verify all new members through a reference process and aim to only promote professionals working to the highest standards. We will ask that all business and individuals using a member’s services complete a feedback form once the work has been finished. It is hoped that by publishing the feedback our members will always strive to provide the best quality service possible.
 
2b: Any members receiving continual negative feedback may have their membership rescinded. Any members participating in any unlawful acts will be immediately struck off the membership database and the relevant authorities contacted.

2c: While OA will always endeavour to verify information provided by members and clients we cannot accept responsibility for any inaccuracies or errors that may appear. All member profiles are written by the members themselves and OA, therefore, accepts no responsibility for any of the content.
 
2d: OA cannot guarantee membership will lead to any paid work for members.
 
2e: By becoming a member of OA you agree to pay a pre-determined fee of £5 per page, per month. There is also a non-refundable, one-off joining fee of £10. In return OA agrees to provide you with a dedicated page on the website. We will also provide branded stationery, customer feedback forms and advertising and invoicing samples, among other benefits. We will continually promote the website and business, and therefore your business.
 
2f: By becoming a member of OA you are confirming that you are at least 18 years of age, are responsible for making your own tax and National Insurance arrangements with Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and have all the relevant insurances required to legally undertake your profession, including, but not exclusively limited to, business insurance and public liability insurance.

2g. By submitting a profile form you are agreeing to become a member and abide by all the terms and conditions stated herein.

2h. When submitting a profile you will be asked to provide a professional reference, which will be taken up to OA before any profile is created for you online.

2i. One month's written notice must be given by either party to terminate membership of OA. OA reserves the right to terminate memberships, with immediate effect, for non payment of membership or if they deem a serious breach of contract has occurred.
 
3a: Although OA will always try to ensure we have only the highest quality members we do not make any guarantee of the quality or legality or services provided or the integrity of any members featured on the website.

3b: By using this website as a search directory for services, the user agrees not to hold OA responsible for any advice or services provided by members, whether they originated through the website or not.

3c: OA expressly disclaims any liability for damages or legal action arising from the work undertaken by any members.

4a: All contents of the website are protected by copyright laws. Unless written permission is sought by the owners, there must be no reproduction of any part of the website. This does not include the copying of their own individual page by members for their own promotional reasons, or by users for their own home use.
 
5a: There may be links to third party websites on this website, over which OA has no control and accepts no liability for. OA does not endorse any websites and by clicking on any link you are agreeing that you will not hold OA responsible for the contents or availability of any such website.
 
5b: The webpage of each individual OA member, although part of the OA website, is compiled and maintained by the member and therefore is classified as a third party website and as such, falls under the same terms as clause 5a above.

6: OA will not be liable for failure to meet any agreed obligations due to circumstances beyond its control. All contracts are governed by English law and jurisdiction.

7a: Use of this website is at your own risk and OA cannot be held responsible for the reliability or uninterrupted use of the website. We cannot guarantee that we will meet all your
requirements.

7b: OA reserves the right to change or amend these terms and conditions at any time. Members will always receive a copy of any new or amended terms and conditions, but users to the site are advised to regularly review them for any changes. Your continual use of the website, once any changes to the terms and conditions have been published, is taken to be your agreement to the amended terms and conditions.

Privacy Policy


Occasional Assistants (OA) adheres to the Data Protection Act 1998.
 
When you sign up to become a member of OA you will be required to provide certain personal information. This privacy policy is to inform you what we will do with that data. By signing up to OA you agree to the use of the data you provide, in the ways set out below.
 
Unless we notify you in advance the information you provide to OA will only be used for administrative purposes. This may include contacting you for your opinions on our services and to inform you of any changes to the website or the services we provide.

We will use the information you provide to verify your identity and to check the references you supply to ensure we maintain the high standards of service offered by OA members. You will also be required to offer certain information that will be published on your individual page on the OA website. You will be informed of what information will be made public and will sign to agree to such publication.

We will never pass your personal information onto a third party. It is for individual members to liaise and arrange any work they choose to undertake.

OA will only ask for personal information from businesses or individuals in connection with the submission of feedback forms on OA members. When businesses or individuals submit these feedback forms, the comments provided may appear on the individual members’ page. No personal information about the business or individual will appear with these comments, unless expressly permitted by the business or individual in the submission. The OA member concerned will be passed the full contents of all feedback forms. They will, however, have all signed up to the terms and conditions of OA, which include adhering to this privacy policy at all times.

Personal information both members and businesses or individuals disclose to us will only be passed on to third parties to comply with the law or to protect ourselves and other users. Any statistical information provided to third parties or advertisers will never include personal information about any of our members or users.

Although we take all precautions possible to ensure your personal data is stored securely, due to the nature of the medium we are operating in, we cannot give a definitive guarantee that all details, at all times, will be completely secure.

These terms and conditions relate only to the OA website and we cannot accept responsibility for any outside website or advertiser mentioned on the OA website. Some of these third party sites, including our hosts - Weebly - may use cookies, over which we have no control.
